SAVE International

Cascadia Chapter selected to host 2011 SAVE International Conference!

Congratulations everyone! Due to our overwhelming enthusiasm and interest the Cascadia Chapter was selected to host the 2011 conference. The location will either be Seattle or Portland, based primarily on cost and availability of government rate hotel rooms.  When asked, the conference attendees were equally divided between the two cites – both have so much to offer.

What now? Andrea Ball is heading up the local planning committee and has already been in touch with the SAVE business office who has the primary responsibility for determining location and negotiating contracts. They will also be handling the bulk of the planning. The Cascadia Chapter can have as much input into the process as we’d like including theme, dates, program structure, events, venues, speakers, etc. so get thinking and watch for more details in the next couple of months. This is a big effort but with planning and participation from everyone we should be able to pull off a very successful conference with minor impact on our membership.

Feel free to send Andrea any thoughts, comments, concerns, suggestions – and be sure to let her know if you are interested in being part of the local planning committee.
